I am Titi, one of Willie’s many cousins. We grew up together. Growing up Willie loved all kinds of sports, had an unbelievable amount of knowledge when it came to sports and teams and statistics, he was also very fond of the WWF, he was always reading, was very intelligent, had a sarcastic sense of humor, he was a momma’s boy, had only an older brother and both were raised by solely their mother. Unfortunately, Willie fell into the trap of addiction at a very young age and, as a result, became homeless shortly after. He lost all contact with his mother and family members. For over 20yrs, neither his mother, nor any other family members were able to locate him. As life would have it, a year after his passing we were able to locate him. His addiction took his life. It’s saddening to say the least. My only memories of Willie will always be of the 2 of us as kids.

I pray that throughout his life he had moments of sobriety, clarity and peace. I pray that he accepted God at the times God presented himself to him. I pray that he had opportunities to cross paths with people who taught him what love is, people that helped him to see the good in himself, people that allowed him to experience life the way it was meant to be experienced. I also hope that throughout his life, he felt his mother’s love around him and how much she missed him. I pray that he felt God’s presence during all his struggles. I pray that god allowed him into his kingdom as the whole & healthy person he was created to be.

Romans 14:7-8 says “ No one dies to themselves” So I feel some peace knowing that at the time of his terrible accident that God was with him in his final hours, in supernatural ways that go beyond our understanding.

Till we meet again. Love you Willie.

Titi
