Victor Leo Sternett was born February 7, 1904. He became a naturalized citizen of the United States on March 13, 1944 in the Eastern District Court of New York.
In July of 1951 he passed the bar examination in the state of New York, one of 970 out of 1,924 total applicants. Sternett practiced as an attorney in Manhattan from at least 1953 through 1960. In 1958 he assisted investing clients with the purchase of a group of apartment buildings at 45-14 Thirty-ninth Place in Long Island City.
Living in the same home with Victor was Leonore Sofie Sternett, who was very likely his wife or sister. She was born April 24, 1913, and became a citizen on March 23, 1944. They made their home at 7666 Austin Street in Forest Hills, New York; and later at 735 Gin Lane in Southold, New York.
Victor Leo Sternett died January 18, 1990 at Parkway Hospital, and was buried on Hart Island. Leonore died on September 12, 2002 at St. John's Queens Hospital, and was also laid to rest on Hart Island.
