Stefan Karpinski was born July 7, 1921, in New York. During WWII he enlisted in the Army on February 12, 1942, in New York City. He stated that his education included three years of high school; that he was single and without dependents; and that his occupation was "pressman and plate printers, printing." He was 6'2" tall, and weighed 213 pounds. Stefan was discharged from the Army on February 2, 1946.
Stefan Karpinski died March 23, 2000, at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York. He was buried on Hart Island.
