Ottokar Norbert Bocz was born on 11 May 1898 in Radautz, Romania. Ottokar bid farewell to his mother, Veronica, and arrived in the United States on 15 August 1923. He traveled from Romania with his older brother Franz Eugen Bocz. Another brother, Louis, was already established in New York.
Ottokar's brother, Louis, lived in Islip, Long Island, until his death in 1950. He left behind a wife and 3 children. Franz, or Frank, died in New York in 1989.
Not much is known about Ottokar's life in America; there is no record of him marrying or having children and he can't be found on any census records to date. He lived for a time in Miami, Florida but at some point returned to New York where he died.
His WWII Draft Registration Card in 1942 describes a man who is 5 feet 7 inches tall with a dark complexion and brown eyes. His stated occupation is "iron worker" though he is unemployed at that time.
Ottokar died on the 1st of October 1983, and was buried on Har Island on the 18th of November 1983.
