     Louis Henry Mesch was born on the 4th of December 1896 in Manhattan, New York.  Louis was the only child of German immigrants, Louis Mesch and Elizabeth Mesch, née Koerwer.  

The senior Louis Mesch died in November 1896, just one month before the birth of his son.  Following her husband's death, Elizabeth returned to her parents' home where she would raise her son, Louis, and remain until her death in 1931.  Elizabeth is buried in Luthern Cemetery, Middle Village, New York.

Louis Henry Mesch died on the 3rd of July 1995 at Parkway Hospital, Forest Hills, New York and was buried on Hart Island on the 7th of February 1996.
