     Lina Paula Schmidt was born in Pforszheim, Germany on the 29th of June 1897.  She emigrated to the United States in 1926 with her husband, Fritz Karl Schmidt, whom she had married in Pforszheim in 1920.

The Schmidts' settled in Providence, Rhode Island where Fritz had relatives.  Lina petitioned for American citizenship in 1933 and was documented as a homemaker, but she later worked for the Taylor Box and Card Company in Providence.  

By 1940, Lina had relocated to New York while Fritz remained in Rhode Island where he died in 1968.

     Linda Paula Schmidt died in New York on the 12th of December 1986 and was buried on Hart Island on the 10th of February 1987.
