Julie, you are no longer missing. Your Hart Island anonymity clock stopped ticking after 23 years, 0 days, 8 minutes and 43 seconds. We found you thanks to the efforts of the Hart Islands Project.
For years we didn’t know anything about you and that was not like you. Even though you stayed away you would offend surprise us each year with your visits and we’d hug… Then years passed and no visits, no hugs Nobody knew where to look. In an unplanned encounter it was rumored that you had passed on, but with no details of when and where.
Through determination, luck and the efforts of the Traveling Cloud Museum we found you in Hart Island, Potter’s Field. The record ledger had you incorrectly listed as: Julio Wiscliwtch not Wiscowitch. It’s now fixed.
I wish we knew you was sick so we could have been there with you, to hug you and to hold your hand. But we are here now and we will be there as soon as we’re allowed to visit Hart Island.
Your mom is happy we found you and that we’re planning to visit with you. She wants you to have the formal family ceremony which will include prayers, eulogies and tears.
Until then, may peace, joy and eternal love be with you.
With all our Love,
Wiscowitch and Ruiz Families
