Joseph Totten was born in 1927 to Clarence and Goldie Totten of Sumpter St, Brooklyn. Clarence was born August 12, 1895 and served in WWI as a private in the Quartermaster Corp. out of Virginia. He passed away on November 5, 1961. Joseph's mother Goldie was born September 18, 1900 and passed away January 8th, 1978, being laid to rest right beside her husband at the Long Island National Cemetary(Plot 2K-3052). Joseph also had 4 siblings: Clarence Jr., Minamay, Florence, and James. Older brother Clarence Jr., born May 30th, 1923, served in WWII in the Army after he bravely enlisted in October of 1942 and passed away April 9, 1976. He is also laid to rest at the Long Island National Cemetary(Plot L 22621-A).
