Joseph (or Josef) Romanyshyn was born March 23, 1924 in Poland. After World War II, the displaced persons card file stated that his nationality was Ukrainian. He was single, worked as a laborer, and was of the Greek Orthodox Catholic faith. For a time he was at the Wildflecken Resettlement Camp near Munich, Germany. He departed there on November 29, 1950, bound for Castanea, Pennsylvania in the United States.
Joseph Romanyshyn died on July 28, 1994, and was buried September 23, 1994 on Hart Island.
