Jorge Santiago

Jorge Santiago was born on September 24, 1974. He is third child to Carmen Sanchez and the second child to Efrain Santiago Soto. He is the third out of six children. He leaves behind four sibling Lucin (Lucy), Efrain (Jr), Marangely (Lily) and his favorite little brother Fernando. He passed away in an untimely accident on May 24, 1988, which was unfortunately on his oldest sister Lucy’s 18th birthday. Jorge’s parent being poor, in shock, distraught and heartbroken over the untimely death of their son made the eternal decision to sign over their son’s body to the city of New York for medical and scientific purposes. His organs were used to help save other lives and his brain was used for research for Autism and Epilepsy. It was their way to bring purposes to unfortunate situation.  We hope and pray that his contributions lead to the advances in Autism that help his brother Fernando today so many years later. Dear Brother, there is not a day that goes by that you are not loved and missed. Reflecting on Jorge’s upcoming 50th Birthday is to remember with a heavy heart that Jorge is free from earth bound pain and sitting with God in the Glory.
