Honoring the life and legacy of my grandfather, Jonathan “Joe” Antley. Born August 31st, 1946 in Gastonia, North Carolina, he was the oldest of his siblings and a soul destined for music. From Gastonia to Connecticut, his journey led him to the Apollo Theatre, where he played for years. As a gifted Motown drummer he shared the stage with icons like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, The Isley Brothers, The Temptations, George Clinton and The Funkadelics, Bobby Taylor and the Vancouvers and so many other Motown greats.
A proud graduate of Berklee College of Music, he poured his heart into every beat and left his mark on music history. He leaves behind his two daughters, Jessica Antley (Christina) and Robin Sexton, and a legacy that continues through all of us who loved him.
Forever proud to call him my grandfather.

Rest in rhythm, Poppa Joe. ♥️🥁
