His Father died when George Francis was only a few years old. Mary (Mae) Peterson remarried to William John Broderick. George Francis Peterson married Rose Harrington in 1937/38. Shortly before their first and only child was born, at the insistence of his Step-Father, George Francis Peterson chabged his name to George Francis Broderick. Thus his son was born William George Broderick on December 25, 1940. His parents ended their marriage shortly afterwards. George became lost to his son. All but son William are now deceased.
