Geoffrey Watson Abicair was born January 5, 1934, in Coburg (a suburb of Melbourne) in Victoria, Australia, the son of George J. and Miriam (Adkin) Abicair.
Geoffrey traveled to the United States on the S.S. Orsova, leaving Sydney, Australia on June 1, 1956, and arriving in San Francisco on June 21, 1956.
Between 1956 and 1958 he lived for a time in Illinois, where he was issued a Social Security number. Once he moved to New York, he spent time at the Charles H. Gay Shelter on Wards Island; and lived for a time at 230 W 54th Street- now called the Ameritania at Times Square.
Geoffrey Abicair died on August 14, 2005, at St. Vincent's- Manhattan; and was buried on Hart Island.
