Federick Emery Bidgood, Jr. 1960 Yearbook Photo, Rye High School, Rye, NY

Frederick Emery Bidgood, Jr. was born on July 11, 1942 in Little Falls, New York. He attended Rye High School in Rye, New York.

Frederick Emery Bidgood, Jr. enlisted in the U. S. Army on December 14, 1967 and was released from service on December 1, 1969.

In 1973 he resided at 45 Great Jones Street in New York City.

Frederick Emery Bidgood, Jr. died on April 22, 2001 at the age of 58 in a Veteran’s Administration Hospital and was interred two years later on Hart Island on July 3, 2003.

Contributor comment:  If Mr. Bidgood, Jr., did, in fact, die in a Veteran’s Administration Hospital as is documented on the Hart Island database, clearly he was eligible for veteran's benefits after having served his country, proof of which is supported via his military records that are available to the public. It is inconceivable to me that a veteran could die in a VA hospital, but not be honored with a proper, dignified military funeral service and burial in a Veteran’s cemetery which he should have been entitled as a result of his sacrifice and service to his country. Instead, Mr. Bidgood, Jr., wound up in a mass grave on Hart Island - what a final shame and disgrace to his honor.
