Frank Verzyl was born on April 25, 1911 in Queens to Frank Verzyl and Ann Heidelberg. Frank had two older sisters, Ann and Charlotte. When Frank was a child, the family lived on Harold Avenue in Long Island City and on Calamus Avenue in Maspeth. Frank’s father was a motorman for the Manhattan and Queens Traction Company, which operated streetcars in Manhattan and Queens, and later worked as a carpenter. When Frank was in his thirties, he worked with his father as a Carpenter’s Assistant.
Frank passed away at the age of 85 in 1996 at Peninsula Hospital Center in Queens.
