Frank N. Ealey was born February 14, 1905 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of John Nelson and Mary Ann (Campbell or Cantrall) Ealey. He had two older sisters: Mabel A., born around 1894, and Marie A., born around 1896.

In 1910 the family was living in Lanesville, Illinois, where their father John supported the family by working as a farm laborer. By 1920 they were living in Mechanicsburg, Illinois, and the father was employed in a sawmill, while mother Mary and daughter Mabel were working as laundresses. Mabel was then married to Alvey Fishburn, who with their growing brood of children also lived with the Ealeys.

In 1922, Frank was working as a mail clerk for the State Journal in Springfield.

Some time prior to 1951, Frank lived in the District of Columbia. His last residence prior to his death was in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York.

Frank N. Ealey died at the age of 94, on November 21, 1999, at the Brookhaven Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was buried on Hart Island.
