Edmund Clancy was born May 9, 1914 in Manhattan, New York City, the son of Thomas and Mary Clancy. When he registered for the draft during World War II, he was living at 808 Putnam Avenue in Brooklyn, with his wife, Virginia. He was employed by the WPA Sewer Department at 70 Columbus Avenue in Manhattan. He was described as 5' 11" tall, weighed 135 pounds, with blue eyes, brown hair, light complexion, and "tattoo marks- one each arm."
In 1950 Edmund was living at 118 193rd Street in Queens. He lived with his son, Edmund J. aged 14, his wife Virginia having died previously. He was employed as an elevator operator.
Edmund Clancy died March 18, 1988. He was buried March 29, 1988 on Hart Island.
