Dora Rosen was born in New York on the 20th of June 1888.       She was the oldest child of Ruben (Rubi) Rosen and Lina Jacobs Rosen.  Ruben and Lina would have five more children:  Jacob Simon, Stella,  Herbert Cyril, and two children who did not survive infancy, Pauline and Milton.  Sadly, in 1900, Lina died at just 33 years old.  She is interred at Bayside Cemetery in Queens.  Dora was only eleven at the time of her mother's death.

In 1901, Rubin Rosen re-married to German born Eva Arons and with her had four more children:  Miriam, Philip, Annie and Wilma.

In 1910, Dora was working as a clerk in a clothing company or "cloak house."  By 1915, she was promoted to bookeeper and by 1930 was a manager for the same business.

The 1930 U.S. Census records Dora still living with her father, Ruben, who was then seventy two, and step-mother, Eva.  However, the following year, Ruben died and was laid to rest in Bayside Cemetery in Queens .

Dora Rosen died on the 14th of April 1986 at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, and was buried on Hart Island on the 26th of January 1989.
