Charles Almer

Charles L. Almer was born August 24, 1903 in New York, the son of Gustaf and Emily Almer. Gustaf was born in Sweden, and Emily in New York. The family resided in Brooklyn throughout Charles' childhood and young adulthood. He attended school through the eighth grade. As a young man Charles worked variously in a machine shop, as a telephone repairman, and a switchman. On September 3, 1932 he married Alice Harrison in Kings County, New York.
