Cecelia Catherine Sheridan (nee McIntyre) was born on 3 August, 1916 in New York City. She was the only daughter of Irish born parents Michael and Mary McIntrye (nee McCann). In 1920, the family lived on East 92nd Street and Cecelia’s father was working as a foreman.
By 1940, Cecelia was living on East 64th Street with her husband, Irish born Peter Sheridan, a coal handler at a railway yard. Cecelia was working as a sales woman in a retail store. Both had a high school education, Peter’s until 8th grade and Cecelia’s until 1st grade. By this stage, Cecelia’s father had passed away and her mother Mary, along with her mother’s niece, Bessie McCann, were living with Cecelia and Peter.
Her last known residence was in Brooklyn, Kings, New York. Cecelia passed away on 12 September, 2001 at the age of 81. She is buried on Hart’s Island.
