Beatrice Maud Hemmings was born on May 10th, 1904 in Puerto Limón, Costa Rica. Beatrice immigrated to the United States in September 1929 and became a U.S. citizen in November, 1939. When Beatrice was in her thirties, she worked as a finisher of dresses and lived at 1893 7th Avenue, an apartment building in South Harlem.
Beatrice passed away at the age of 93 at Mount Sinai Hospital on March 19, 1998.
