After an initially promising beginning, Anthony Quarberg along with his father, Lincoln Quarberg, became estranged from his family when they both moved to NYC. Even his mother, Helen Harris Quarberg did not know their whereabouts. After her divorce to his father, Lincoln, Helen was reaching out to family, trying to find them as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences submitted Lincoln Quarberg papers into their library. Lincoln Quarberg is also buried on Hart Island after passing away 25 Apr 1979 (aged 80) in New York, New York County, New York, USA. His wife (and Anthony’s mother) along with Lincoln’s two other sons, are interred in the Col. of Prayer, Memorial Terrace which is the same mausoleum in the same building that Michael Jackson is in. A spot had been reserved for Helen’s ex husband, Lincoln Quarberg, but family could never locate Lincoln nor Anthony.

Anthony’s father, Lincoln Quarberg, was a publicist in Hollywood for over 30 years, Quarberg was employed with Edwin Carewe (1927), Howard Hughes's Caddo Company (1927-1933), Pickford-Lasky Productions (1936), B. P. Schulberg (1937), Universal (1938-1942), RKO Radio Pictures (1942-1944), Andrew Stone Productions (1946), and Edmund Grainger Productions/RKO (1951-1952). He is credited with coining the term "platinum blonde" for Jean Harlow. The Lincoln Quarberg papers in Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Library span the years 1924–1958 and encompass 3 linear feet. The papers offer insight into the work of publicists in general, particularly as they relate to Quarberg's work with Howard Hughes.
