i would just like to share with everyone my experience with the hart isl. project and in perticular my experience with MELINDA HUNT> i have been searching for my sister for about 12 yrs. with no success untill i read an articicle in the daily news about the hart isl.project. i sent an e-mail to MELINDA and immediatly she responded and my new journey began. my sister died at bellvue hospital . she was 8mos. old. at the time the drs. and hospital there asked my parents if they would be willing to donate my sister to medical research as this may prevent what happened to her from happening to other infants. my parents had absolutly no money at the time and the hospital said they would take care of all the arrangements and buriel. i started asking questions about my sister so many yrs. ago and when my father passed away in 1985 i got a little more curious. approx 12 yrs ago i started to go at it pretty good. all dead ends . the hosp. couldn`t help me , my mom could not rember what the drs. told her. so i was not getting much info . on where she was buried. with the help of MELINDA over the last couple of months pointing me in the right direction and her taking the time to do research herself and contacting municipal archives i have finaly found my sister who is buried on hart island. i just received conformation today. without MELINDA`S help none of this would have been possible. i can`t wait to visit hart island and bring closure to this incredible journey in my search for my sister. i urge everyone who looks at this site to please support the hart island project and the great work that MELINDA is doing. this is indeed an incredible woman with a heart of gold and a sincere desire to help families reconnect with there loved ones. my prayers are with all the families looking for there loved ones and a special prayer for MELINDA for GOD to protect and guide her in helping as many families as possible. she has definatly put a face on " HART ISLAND" and opened up a door and a look into this island and all our loved ones who are buried there. many thanks to MELINDA and to all of you who read this " PLEASE , NEVER GIVE UP SEARCHING AND NEVER LOSE FAITH" best wishes to all BOBBY MATOVIC
